Kay S. Bunagan, PhD, RPsy
Kay is a licensed clinical psychologist, family and community interventionist, relationship and resilience coach, and advocate for mental health and community development. She is a founding partner of Better Steps Psychology and a consultant for Ateneo Bulatao Center for Psychological Services.
She was head of the family modules component of Katatagan Kontra Droga sa Komunidad, a community-based drug recovery program, and part of the team that developed the Katatagan Online resilience program as a response to the pandemic.
As a volunteer for UGAT Foundation, she provided debriefing services for repatriated overseas Filipino workers and co-created a Family Care and Wellness course for Filipinos in Italy. She is also a volunteer teacher for the Ateneo Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Program for overseas Filipinos (ALSE OF-LIFE) of the Ateneo School of Government.
As a specialist in Marriage and Family Therapy, she brings more than 10 years of experience in her work with individuals, couples, families, and communities, through clinical and nonclinical interventions. Currently, she is pursuing further MFT training at Texas Woman’s University. This is part of her goal to expand and strengthen MFT training and practice in the Philippines and with Filipino communities around the world.
